| CTV and TSN Unveil Blockbuster NFL Schedule for 2008 |
| Posted
on Thursday, September 04, 2008 - 09:42 AM |
Ready...break! CTV and TSN are the
definitive destinations for all things NFL football, as both networks
team up to deliver end-to-end monster coverage of the entire 2008 NFL
season. Together, the two networks boast the biggest - and most
prestigious - NFL schedule in Canada, with exclusive Canadian coverage
of tonight's season opener, Sunday afternoon early games (1 p.m. ET),
Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, the Thursday/Saturday NFL
package, every NFL Playoff game and the coveted Super Bowl, making CTV
and TSN the home of the NFL in Canada.
The highly-anticipated NFL season gets underway tonight (Sept. 4) on TSN
with the NFL Kickoff Game at 7 p.m. ET, showcasing the Super Bowl
champion NY Giants taking on the Washington Redskins at Giants Stadium
in East Rutherford, NJ (see TSN Broadcast Schedule below).
On CTV, the NFL action kicks off this Sunday (Sept. 7) at 1 p.m. ET,
delivering some of the league's biggest stars and most compelling
storylines in three high-profile games to be broadcast as follows:
* Game 1: Seattle @ Buffalo - available on CTV Toronto, CTV
Southwestern Ontario, CTV British Columbia and CTV HD East/West
* Game 2: NY Jets @ Miami - available on CTV Ottawa, CTV Northern
Ontario, CTV Calgary, CTV Edmonton, CTV Saskatchewan and CTV Winnipeg
* Game 3: Kansas City @ New England - available on CTV Montreal and
CTV Atlantic
CTV will announce NFL games on a week-by-week basis. In addition, all
regular season NFL match-ups on CTV will be immediately followed by a
special post-game edition of SportsCentre with Jay Onrait.
Once again, CTV provides fans with exclusive Canadian coverage of the
NFL regular season Sunday early-afternoon game package (1 p.m. ET), all
Playoff games, and the Super Bowl - the single most-watched sporting
event in North America. Last year, CTV and RDS attracted a record
combined audience for the Super Bowl in Canada, as 5.07 million viewers
watched the NY Giants pull off a thrilling upset victory over the
undefeated New England Patriots.
TSN will televise 43 NFL games this season, delivering back-to-back
nights of appointment television with exclusive Canadian coverage of
Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, as well as the
Thursday/Saturday broadcast package.
TSN's jam-packed NFL lineup also features the popular preview/wrap-up
shows Sunday NFL Countdown, Football Night in America, NFL Primetime and
Monday Night Countdown, as well as the NFL Draft and special
gridiron-themed segments on SportsCentre and TSN.ca.
