TSN Studio Shows Go HD This Weekend
Posted on Thursday, October 09, 2008 - 05:11 PM
TSN

TSN confirmed today that the network’s slate of in-house studio shows will all be transitioned to High Definition beginning this weekend with the CFL on TSN pre-game studio show. Other TSN studio shows transitioning to HD includes NHL on TSN, TSN The Reporters with Dave Hodge, Raptors on TSN and In This Corner with Russ Anber.

The transition of the TSN’s studio shows to HD is the latest move in the channel’s commitment to overall HD progression. This month, nearly 75 per cent of TSN's 24-hour broadcast day will be available in HD.

As an industry leader in HD sports broadcasting, TSN made Canadian television history by being the first broadcaster to deliver a daily newscast in HD when it launched its flagship news program, SportsCentre, in High Definition in 2006.

TSN, along with sister network Discovery Channel Canada, became the first Canadian specialty networks to launch dedicated HD channels in 2003.

TSN HD offers more sports coverage, hockey coverage, Canadian and internationally-produced sports events, and hours of HD sports action and news than any other broadcaster in Canada.

In 2008, TSN and TSN2 will each feature close to 6,000 hours of coverage in High Definition from national and international events and programs, including SportsCentre, NHL, World Junior Hockey Championship, NFL, CFL, MLB, NBA, Golf, NASCAR, Soccer, Tennis and U.S. College Football.
