Musical Performances, The Metropolitan Opera Series And Live Figure Skating on Bold This November

On Friday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, bold brings audiences a special, live audience edition of Q, CBC Radio's flagship arts, culture and entertainment program, featuring eight-time Juno Award- and three-time Grammy Award-winner Sarah McLachlan.

Taped in October at Toronto's Glenn Gould Studio in front of an audience of over 300 strong, Sarah McLachlan performs songs from her new album Closer: The Best of Sarah McLachlan, including "Building a Mystery", "U Want Me 2" and "Angel", and participates in a sit-down, one-on-one interview with Q front man Jian Ghomeshi. Also on the show is one of Canada's great men of range-both on-stage in Stratford and on-screen in Hollywood-Colm Feore. An encore telecast of this special live audience
edition of Q will air Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT, and Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

Don't miss the last four episodes of the celebrated second season of LIVE FROM ABBEY ROAD, a series that showcases top-class musicians recording a session at the world's most prestigious recording studio, airing on bold, Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET / 10 p.m. PT. This month, the program features performances by artists The Kills, Sara Bareilles and The Fratellis on Nov. 6; The Subways, Gnarls Barkley and Herbie Hancock and Sonya Kitchell on Nov. 13; Ben Harper, Justin Currie and Bryan Adams on Nov. 20; and Brian Wilson on Nov. 27.

An encore presentation of The Metropolitan Opera's first season begins Sunday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. PT on bold, with the telecast of Puccini's IL TRITTICO, the largest production in the Met's recent history. On Nov. 16, bold airs Rossini's IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA (THE BARBER OF SEVILLE), and on Nov. 23, Tchaikovsky's EUGENE ONEGIN, an adaption of Pushkin's novel. The following week, bold broadcasts Tan Dun's FIRST EMPEROR, on Nov. 30.

From Friday, Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 2, bold telecasts live coverage of the 2008 HOMESENSE SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL competition, from Scotiabank Place in Ottawa as part of the Championship Figure Skating on CBC broadcast season. bold's coverage of the first major figure skating event of the season on Canadian soil will be hosted by P.J. Kwong and features the nation's brightest stars, including reigning Canadian national men's champion Patrick Chan, as well as Joannie
Rochette, women's third place finisher in 2007. And all eyes will be on the pairs team of Jessica Dube and Bryce Davidson, having won silver at the 2007 event. bold's live figure skating telecast schedule is as follows:
