The MuchOriginal series DISBAND has done it again! After the British Columbia band These Kids Wear Crowns appeared on Season 2 of the Gemini-nominated series, the group secured a worldwide record deal with Capitol Records/EMI Music Canada. Now, fans can watch a continuation of their DISBAND journey in the one-hour, follow-up special, DISBAND DISCOVERED: THESE KIDS WEAR CROWNS on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on MuchMusic. After the episode, MuchMusic goes live to the band outside the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood to introduce the world premiere of their MuchFACT video "Break It Up".

In DISBAND DISCOVERED: THESE KIDS WEAR CROWNS, viewers follow the small-town electro-pop band as they go from playing in their garage to attending the MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, and packing in audiences for sold out shows. The group goes through the highs and lows of trying to make it big, complete with a train derailment, impromptu performances in unexpected places, and near disappointment from the DISBAND panel. But fans get a chance to watch their dreams come true when they guys take the stage at The Vogue Theatre in Vancouver.

These Kids Wear Crowns are the latest artists to have come out of the MuchMusic series and sign major record label deals. Other success stories include Stereos, San Sebastian, and Abandon All Ships.

Viewers can catch a brand new season of musical journeys on Season 3 of DISBAND later this fall.

The MuchOriginal, Gemini-nominated series DISBAND, helps develop young, struggling Canadian bands by providing them music industry exposure with honest critique. Artists from across the country are put through a one week, rock star boot camp with DISBAND Mentor Greig Nori followed by the biggest performance of their lives in front of the country’s music industry elite. After they take the stage, the artist is told whether they have what it takes to be in the music biz or if they should DISBAND.
