Astral Media’s The Movie Network and Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central today announced the launch of HBO Canada, a channel that will deliver a full slate of HBO’s award-winning, boundary-pushing, genre-defining series, films, comedies and live events. Launching on Thursday, October 30, 2008, HBO Canada is a multiplex channel that will be offered at no additional charge to customers who subscribe to The Movie Network or Movie Central.

Building on the phenomenal success of TELETOON Retro, TELETOON Canada inc. will launch a French language version of the classic cartoon channel this September. The launch will see the total number of Canadian homes receiving TELETOON Retro grow to over 5.8 million as Vidéotron illico Digital TV offers both the French and English channels as part of the TELEMAX package on channels 97 and 159 respectively.

Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is pleased to announce the launch of its new high definition channel, APTNHD. Special programming for the HD kickoff included the premiere showing of the 2007 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards in full high definition format. APTN¹s HD service is broadcast in true HD format and is currently only available to Bell Canada HD subscribers on channel 808.

TELETOON Retro premieres across Canada on October 1, 2007 at 6 pm.

CTV's ASN channel in Atlantic Canada will be rebranded as "A" and feature the full "A" line-up seen in Ontario and British Columbia.
