Providers News: Sky Angel service now available to Canadians via IPTV

SHIFTV Inc. has announced that it has entered into an exclusive Canadian IPTV agreement with Sky Angel, the U.S.-based direct-to-home satellite broadcaster of Christian and family-friendly TV and radio programming. This will allow Canadians to subscribe to the Sky Angel service via broadband internet.

Providers News: The Walt Disney Company and Rogers to bring Disney movies on demand to viewers in Canada

Buena Vista International Television (BVITV), the international TV distribution division of The Walt Disney Company, has concluded a multi-year video on demand movie rental agreement with Rogers Cable in Canada. For the first time, Rogers Personal TV customers with a digital box will be able to watch Disney live action and animated movies, on Rogers On Demand through their digital set top boxes in Ontario. This is The Walt Disney Company's first video on demand agreement in Canada and is in line with the Company's focus on the application of technology to enhance its content and expand its distribution.

(TBS, Inc.) and Rogers Cable today announced that Turner Classic Movies (TCM), which shows the greatest motion pictures of all time uncut and commercial-free, will be added to Roger's channel line-up beginning February 1, 2007. Providers News: Rogers Hits Milestone with over 200,000 High Definition Television Customers

Rogers Cable Communications Inc. has announced that its High Definition Television (HDTV) service has seen tremendous growth in the last year with the most HD subscribers in Canada. Since November 2005, Rogers HDTV customers have more than doubled with over 200,000 HDTV households now subscribing to the service. As well, Rogers HDTV customers can select from a growing list of HD channels.

Providers News: Cogeco adds 3 english and 8 french HD channels

Cogeco Cable announced today a major upgrade of its High Definition (HD) television offering. Most of Cogeco Cable’s Digital Television subscribers in Québec will now have access to eleven HD channels, eight of which are in French and three in English.
