General News: oneSTOP Toronto and CHUM Television Secure Content Sponsorship

OneSTOP Toronto Inc., operator of the oneSTOP Network, Toronto Transit Commission's Private Digital Network (Platform Display Units), has secured an exclusive content sponsorship agreement with CHUM Television. CHUM's Toronto flagship station Citytv, will be the exclusive news, sports and weather provider for the network. This agreement is the first of many significant partnerships in development. In addition to Citytv's content, the network will provide real time transit information and other value-add content to subway riders.

General News: CHUM Limited Completes Sale of Toronto 1 To TVA and Sun Media

CHUM Limited announces the closing of its sale of local Toronto television station, Toronto 1, to TVA Group Inc. and Sun Media Corporation, both subsidiaries of Quebecor Media Inc., for the purchase price of $46 million (less a preliminary working capital adjustment of $3.5 million) on a debt-free basis. As part of the transaction, CHUM obtains Sun Media's 29.9% ownership interest, valued at $8 million, in southern Ontario cable news channel, CablePulse24 (CP24), increasing CHUM's ownership of the station to 100%.

Defective Sony wide screen television sets are the focus of a class action lawsuit initiated on behalf of British Columbia consumers.

The action against Sony concerns numerous models of wide screen Rear Projection Cathode Ray Tube televisions and was filed by the law firm of Poyner Baxter of North Vancouver, which works predominantly in the field of class action suits.

CH Television in Hamilton has made some announcements regarding their personalities. CH has named crime reporter and back-up anchor Annette Hamm the new co-host of CH Morning Live, along with Bob Cowan. She will start her new position o­n the monrning show, Monday November 15, 2004. Also, CH has finally found a permanent news anchor after months of rotating CH staffers. The new anchor of CH News at Eleven (Mon - Fri), will be Global Television's Queen's Park Reporter Nick Dixon. Dixon will start his new duties with CH o­n Monday November 29, 2004.
