CBC, which recently acquired the digital network Country Canada, is unveiling its new look and schedule, May 2, 3 and 4, by unscrambling its signal to over 4.8 million Canadian households. Many will see the preview on a designated basic cable channel as well as Country Canada's regular channel. This Free Preview has drawn huge support from all satellite and major cable companies. 98% of digital households will have access to view the channel.

CBC Country Canada offers more live and original programming than any other Canadian digital channel. The majority of live programming originates from bureaus in St. John's and Winnipeg.

Get the popcorn ready! CBC Country Canada showcases a terrific programming lineup including a Saturday night commercial-free, double bill of the classic "Stagecoach" and the critically acclaimed "A River Runs Through It" - starting at 8 pm ET. Saturday morning blooms with a special spring gardening lineup and on Sunday afternoon, viewers will have an opportunity to watch Rex Murphy as he handles live calls on Cross Country Checkup. The network also presents a special Sunday night encore presentation of The Royal Canadian Air Farce Season Finale from Brandon, Manitoba.

CBC Country Canada connects Canadians with regional news stories, issues and current affairs that reach beyond the big city limits. Their programming is as diverse as our nation. And there's something for everyone - documentaries, Saturday night commercial-free movies, gardening and lifestyle shows, sporting events, live call-in shows and specials.

Discover the world that is CBC Country Canada. Viewers across Canada can preview the network via Bell ExpressVu Channel 523, Star Choice Channel 512, Rogers and Cogeco Cable Channel 166, Videotron Channel 106 and Shaw Cable Channel 96, from May 2 to 4.
