| Programming Highlights: iChannel Wants You To Come Out |

To celebrate National Coming Out Day on October 11th, ichannel will broadcast several programs about the struggle lesbians and gay men have for equal rights in Canada and around the world. On Friday, October 2nd ichannel’s flagship current affairs show @issue exposes the controversy over the ban on blood donations from men who’ve had sex with men. The show profiles Adrian Lomaga who was shocked to learn about the ban when he went to donate blood as a law student at McGill. Now a lawyer, he has a fifteen hundred lawsuit against Hema Quebec, the provinces blood agency. Also featured in the show is John Plater who is in favour of keeping the ban. He got Hepatitis C and HIV from a blood transfusion. A representative from Canadian Blood Services takes part in the discussion.
