New Channels: Rogers Media to Acquire SCN and Launch Citytv Saskatchewan

Rogers Media Inc. today announced its intent to acquire a 100 per cent stake in Saskatchewan Communications Network (SCN) and launch Citytv Saskatchewan. The investment allows Citytv to expand its footprint in key markets and provide a national platform for its programming, while simultaneously supporting SCN’s historical role of offering educational programming.

As the leading performer in prime time, the first part of Citytv’s two-night finale extravaganza outperformed its closest competitor of the night, CBC's Rick Mercer Report (1.2 million, Ind. 2+, national).

Summer may be winding to a close but things are just starting to heat up on Citytv, as the Fall season ushers in some of the hottest and most highly-anticipated new and returning shows of the season.


Citytv today confirmed the premiere dates for nine new and 10 returning hit series to Citytv’s Fall prime-time lineup beginning Monday, Sept. 19. Three newly-acquired returning series will now also debut on Citytv.
